Brilliant reddish blue. It is black blue powder and insoluble in water, acetic acid, pyridine, methylbenzene, dimethylbenzene, acetone and ethanol but slightly soluble in hot chloroform, o-chlorophenol and quinolone. Its alkaline reduction leuco body is blue and acid reduction leuco body is reddish blue. It is brown in concentrated sulfuric acid and emerges blue precipitate after dilution. It is easy to be over oxidation and reduction. Meanwhile it is sensitive to hard water and it is not resist chlorine bleaching.

Application: It is widely used for the dyeing of yarn’s leuco body. Its superfine powder is used for the pigment pad dyeing of cotton and polyester cotton blended fabrics and also used for the direct printing and resist printing of cotton cloth. It is also used for dyeing mucilage glue, nylon and vinylon. It is used for the two-bath topping of vinylon/cotton, polyester/cotton blended fabrics and can be made into organic pigment which is used for printing ink and paint. Its construction is same with C.I. pigment blue 60.
